Do you have strong expertise in international transport and a keen eye for optimization? As a Transport Specialist, you combine your knowledge of road, air and sea transport with strong analytical and commercial skills. This way, you help us organize our international transport flows more efficiently and effectively.
What you do
To strengthen our Supply Chain department, we are looking for a Transport Specialist with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. This role focuses equally on transport expertise (parcel transport, air, sea and road freight) and systematic data analysis (SAP BI, Excel). You also have a basic knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
You combine operational experience with a strong analytical and commercial mindset. You will play an active role in managing and optimizing a significant transport budget, transport modes and suppliers within the Apparel division, covering both export and import. You will also contribute to optimizing invoice control and ensuring accurate follow-up of transport costs.
Your responsibilities
- Manage and optimize transport flows end-to-end (parcel, air, sea and road) within an international manufacturing environment.
- Select the most appropriate transport modes based on cost, lead time, risk and service levels.
- Actively negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders and logistics partners on rates, contract terms and transport solutions.
- Analyze transport costs and performance and develop concrete proposals for optimization.
- Identify customs-related risks and support correct documentation and compliance.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Warehousing, Purchasing and Finance.
- Monitor market developments related to transport rates, capacity and regulations.
Who you are
- You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Transport Specialist, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- You have in-depth knowledge of parcel, air, sea and road transport and feel comfortable working in an international environment.
- You have a basic knowledge of customs processes and regulations, or are willing to acquire this knowledge in the short term.
- You are an experienced negotiator with proven experience in supplier and contract management.
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to translate data into well-founded decisions.
- You work in a structured, proactive and independent way, with an eye for both detail and impact.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English.
