What you do
Within our Business Product Development department we are looking for reinforcement in various teams 'Product Development Protective Clothing'.As (junior) product developer you are responsible for the development and creation of the various types of protective clothing.
- You will analyze and interpret a project brought to you by the sales or product manager. You take into account customer needs, price, comfort, protection standards, etc.
- You work closely with R&D and the Product managers, in coming up with the right protective concepts.
- You elaborate and draw a design and you create a complete technical file that includes all (seam) sections. This technical file is the guideline for the pattern department, sample workshop and production.
- You draw up a complete bill of material and order the necessary materials through the purchasing department to have your samples made.
- You translate the design and technical file to the pattern maker and work closely with the pattern department for this. You then supervise the sample workshop to turn your creations into a finished product.
- You calculate the times needed to produce the protective clothing and give a price calculation on that basis. You take into account the optimization (standardization) and the possibilities in production.
- You do all this within a certain timing and you follow a schedule carefully for this purpose.
- You report to the business development director.
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor of Fashion Technology/Textile Engineering or relevant experience and a strong interest in textiles and creation.
- You have knowledge of drawing cross-sections and time interpretation (m.t.m.) , type seams and associated machinery.
- You work autonomously, driven and results-oriented, with a sense of detail, organization and planning.
- You are willing to travel abroad to a limited extent. (1x, max 2x/year)
- You have a fluent knowledge of Dutch and English. Notions of French are a bonus.
- You have knowledge of illustrator.
- You have insight into seam cross-sections and are also able to draw them yourself (in illustrator).
- You know your way around the MS office package.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus, not a must.
